Work on Phase II of the downtown revitalization project has begun.  Alabama Power crews began by moving a power line away from the 20th  Street side of city hall. Poles that now block parking on the side  and front will be eliminated by rerouting power lines and increasing  the span between poles. The sidewalk entrance to the water department  is blocked but the door is not. Customers will have to go around the  construction or through city hall to reach the water department.
